Fight or flight mode and tech...

“So many of us work in fight or flight mode when operating tech without actually realising it.”

This was a great quote from a client participating in one of our Buteyko Breathwork & Mindfulness Courses. The individual noted that from research, “many people for example, answer digital messages they get like they are getting chased by a big cat in the Savannah. Why?”

We explained that it is often far too commonplace for people’s nervous systems to be operating on a heightened sense of anticipation so that the individual is completely removed from self awareness, whether at work, studying or supposedly relaxing.

Too many of us hold ourselves at work in tension without necessarily realising this. Intention not in tension is key, being more self-aware. The jazz hands exercise soon got everybody loosened up! And we were grateful for the feedback!
