HUGS, BREATHING AND SOMEONE TO FOLLOW

A little post about human touch…

Consensual human touch can have powerful effects on our body. It can lower stress and helps us feel calmer by lowering our breathing rate.

It’s exactly why parents are told to hold their babies, skin to skin at birth but as we age most people stop doing this, it’s conditioned out of us. Touch is absolutely vital!

Also, research shows that holding a hug for at least 7 (but ideally up to 20 seconds) releases loads of oxytocin, but often people let go as they feel it is uncomfortable. Try it! Hug for longer. We all know someone who needs a hug!
